About Us
Calvary Chapel Lubbock was started in November of 2003, when Pastor Ben moved with his family from Rio Rancho, NM with a burden for the city of Lubbock. They started a Wednesday night Bible Study with one couple meeting in the apartment clubhouse of the apartments they were living in. As the fellowship continued to grow, the Lord put it on Pastor Ben’s heart to start a Sunday Morning service, while still meeting in the clubhouse. The Lord continued to grow the body and ministry was taking place.
By April, the church’s needs were no longer met by the clubhouse facility and CCL starting looking and praying for a building. They found an old building formally the “Ceramic Cottage” and it was in terrible shape. But with some much needed elbow grease and perseverance it has become a great home. After spending a little more than a year in that building it was evident that in order to allow for the ministry to grow that we would have to find a new location.
The leadership started praying in January and were able to look into to few prospects that might be suitable. By July, those doors had been closed, and the Lord opened the door for our current location on 42nd & Boston.
As the Lord shapes and molds the ministry of Calvary Lubbock, our heart’s desire is to see lives changed, and people transformed into the image of Jesus Christ by His everlasting Word.
